CSE Students, Read this perspective, useful for your career!!

Dear Friends and Students

Dear IoT, AI-ML, & Cloud Computing / All CSE Family Students

TCS is making a strategic beginning in the area of IoT (Internet of Things). IoT is shifting from PoC (Proof of Concept) to Operational necessity. By the end of 2020, Gartner projects there are 5.8 billion IoT endpoints in use. That represents a 21% increase from 2019 (and that figure was a 21.5% jump over 2018). If we expect a similar projection for 10 years, you can imagine the potential of this domain (www.tcs.com).

Today sensors are embedded with factories, vehicles, retail stores, bulldozers, electric-toothbrushes, and so on. Cloud-Computing, IoT devices, data analytics and AI together going to bring a new set of business opportunities.

For e.g. Shipbuilder Damen developed connected vessels with 10,000 IoT sensors, collecting fuel consumption, engine performance, and operations efficiency. Now you can imagine how much Data Analytics play a role?

Ericson developed a smart factory connecting hundreds of screwdrivers with IoT sensors.

Warehouse robots equipped with sensors and AI avoid collisions and doing job with more efficiency

Telehealth: The Stanford Children’s Health Hospital is having 620 digital visits per day through its telehealth interface. Insurance is connected and automated with this facility. It provides early warning signals of disease symptoms.

Now you can imagine, how computer science is connected!! Today Engineering education is narrowly divided: CSE, CSE-AI-ML, CSE-DS, IT, CSE-IOT, CSE Cybersecurity, CSE-Business Systems, CSE-Block chain, CST, IT, AI-DS, etc. However, in the reality, all these horizontal skills are tightly interlinked and inter-disciplined.

Students Think Big. Don’t worry about your narrow domain. The world is integrated so as the CSE family!!

Your Well-wisher
