This is Dr. Ravi Saripalle, Founder, Inspire to Innovate (i2i) Storytelling Movement. Welcome to “Letter to Student Series- Volume 3 and Issue 11. Padma Awardee Story Series-Episode 5- E. Sreedharan, Metro Man of India : Elattuvalapil Sreedharan, popularly known as the "Metro Man of India", is an Indian civil engineer and a retired Indian Engineering Service (IES) officer. He has immensely contributed towards public transportation system especially metro network across India. He has amazing project management and leadership skills which has been exhibited in every project he has undertaken. He was awarded with Padma Shri  and Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India and many other prestigious awards for his service to the nation and engineering world. Padma Awardee Story Series-Episode 6- Jadav Payeng, Forest Man of India : Jadav Payeng, A Green Promoter from Assam, single handedly  planted saplings on a sandbar of the river Brahmaputra for almost 30 years which turned out to be a man made forest covering 1360 acres. Inspiring Story Series: Episode 8-Dasarth Manjhi, Mountain Man of India: Dasarath Manjhi was a labourer from Gehlaur village, Gaya District, Bihar. He carved a path 360 ft, 30 ft wide and 25 ft deep through a hill using 2 simple instruments (Hammer and Chisel). He did this noble effort for almost 22 years. The new path reduced the district of Atri and Wazirganj sectors of the Gaya district from 80 km to 3 km. Asharam, Son of Ragpicker, Secures Seat in most Prestigious AIIMS, Jodhpur!
Asharam, son of Ranjit Choudhary, secured seat in AIIMS, Jodhpur. He got AIR 707 at overall ranking and AIR 141 in OBC category. After 10th class, Asharam was selected by Dakshina Foundation for scholarship and residential classes in Pune. This has turned his life. His father is Rag picker by profession and he is eldest of 3 siblings. His brother Sitaram is studying 12th class and sister is in 9thclass. His father worked so hard and gave whatever required to him. Asharam is from Vijayganj Mandi village, 40km from Dewas district, MP. Pranjal Dubey, Former Associate of SAP SE, Sold his house to educate Rural Youth, Sandalpur village , Dewas District, MP:  Pranjal Dubey, a 40-year-old techie, gave up his lucrative software job at SAP SE, working on a mission to provide employment opportunities and improve the life of rural villages in MP. With this aim, he started Sant Singaji Institute of Science and Management (SSISM) in 2010, today educating more than 1,000 students and helping to reach nearby 200 villages. With the support of his mother Kalpana Dubey and wife Amita Dubey, Pranjal is working hard and smart to inspire rural students in terms of confidence and skill building! Moksha, a Multi-Purpose Trolley aimed to ease the difficulty of carrying water and heavy weight items, designed by Arasavilli Pavan Kumar
Arasavilli Pavan Kumar, a student of Gayatri Vidya Parishad College For Degree and PG Courses, Visakhapatnam designed a wonderful trolley to ease the difficulty of hardworking women carrying water and workers carrying heavy items. This product is made of cane material and few customized iron parts to improve the strength and stability of the trolley. It is aimed to be cheap and affordable so that it becomes great productivity tool across developing nations.  He applied for The James Dyson Award, UK. Wish you best wishes Pavan Kumar. Aadish Cheruku, 11- year old boy from Hyderabad, Cancer Survivor, is a Chess Champion : Aadish Cheruku is one among 15 selected globally to compete in the chess category at World Children Winners Games held at Moscow. Though he missed bronze medal by a whisker, but he is a real hero for many children. He got Cancer at the age of 5, underwent Chemo therapy for 9 months, isolated with whole world, revived completely through his fighting spirit and positive will. 2 years back, he got introduced to professional coach (Hanuman Satish) but acclaimed high in short period. Renuka Yadav, who used to sell milk, daughter of domestic help, is First Woman Olympian: Renuka Yadav who is currently working as train ticket examiner with Central Railway in Mumbai, got selected for 16-member women's hockey squad for the Rio Olympics which India got opportunity after 36 years. It is not easy journey for Renuka. She used to sell milk as a young girl in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh and parents used to work as domestic helps.  Renuka's hardwork, determination made her to reach this echelon and it is most happy moment to her and Nation too. I wish you should be either Performer (your score should be between 40-50) or Challenger (your score should be between 25-40). You should not give any scope to be  Lounger (relaxed) with 10-25 score or Laggard (slower than desired) with score less than 10.
