Dear Friends
I was questioned when I presented the Role of AI in Healthcare in multiple forums a couple of years back. AI cannot replace doctors. I agree. However, earlier hospitals used to promote expert doctors' availability in their hospitals. Just in 2-3 years' time, the situation got completely changed. Now Hosipatals started promoting different AI-Powered solutions as their expertise. What it signifies? The power of AI. A mediocre doctor's role would be minimized.
Now a doctor is having 2 alternatives
1. Become Tech Savvy, Be a Design Thinker (Human Centered), and become more of a Prompt Doctor
2. Alternatively Become an expert doctor and Train the AI with their expertise
The rest of the doctors who do not belong to the above 2 categories would be affected.
Now different hospitals are going to advertise their AI solutions in are following parameters
1. Accuracy and Performance
2. Ease of Use
3. Scalability
4. Customization (specific to the patient's needs)
5. Cost
It is not uncommon for people to question the role of AI in healthcare, especially when it comes to serious illnesses such as cancer. However, AI has been proven to be a valuable tool in assisting healthcare professionals with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
It is important to note that while AI can assist with certain tasks, it cannot replace the expertise and experience of trained medical professionals. Doctors and other healthcare professionals will continue to play a crucial role in the care and treatment of cancer patients.
Design thinking can be used in conjunction with AI to develop solutions that are both innovative and effective. This approach involves a human-centered design process that takes into account the needs and experiences of patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
Overall, the integration of AI and design thinking into cancer healthcare has the potential to improve outcomes for patients and enhance the work of healthcare professionals.
Doctor, Be a Design Thinker!!
Finally, I appreciate Omega Hospitals, Hyderabad for being forerunners in adopting AI for better healthcare.
