Sonam Lotus, Son of Humble Farmer, Became
Ladakh’s Unofficial ‘Weatherman’!. Sonam Lotus, a humble farmer's son from Ladakh region is
known for his weather prediction. Having more than 10,500 facebook followers,
receiving Best employee as meteorologist in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, is
famous now! Though there is no high school in his village, Sonam pursued his
master in physics from Jammu University but today became master in weather
prediction. Ladakh is known for its unpredictable and adverse weather
conditions. This region is prone for flash floods, landslides, avalanches,
windstorms and hail storms etc. The role of weather prediction is critical for
these people. Maximum reported temperature in Leh up to 1980 was 34.2 degrees
Celsius where as in 2014, it rose to 35.4c, an increase of 1c. This is not good
sign for the region and for the whole sub-continent. Climate change has severe
consequences. Unfortunately, Ladakh received only 1 cm of snow up to February
2018, where as last year same time, it was 30 cm of snow. Usually it is 22
cm average. This is not good sign. Using
facebook page, Sonam educates and updates all his followers, helping local
people as well as tourists. Thank you Sonam for your inspiring and meaning help.

daily activities. After 7 years of long effort, he could able to develop
India's first-of-its-kind UPSC coaching book for visually-impaired. Amazing
effort right. He also developed free audio books for all aspirants. India as 2
crore differently-abled individuals, out of which 10% are graduates. This

Hosachiguru, Agricultural Asset
Management Startup, Creating Social, Environmental and Economic Impact: Started by 3 Technopreners, Ashok J,
Sriram Chitlur and Srinath Setty, relinquished their full time jobs and took up
this Green venture. In Kannada, Hosa means new and Chiguru means sprout. Today
they are running 30 sustainable green projects on 800 acres of land and selling
these forest plots! What a great concept right? Yes, they sell the pieces of
land (call them "Green Units"- an asset which is valuable, yielding
and close to Nature.) and manage green on their behalf. Isn't a wonderful green
concept? They use water harvesting methods, bio-diverse farming,
bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, live mulching, intercropping, integrated
pest management and the inclusion of a diverse variety of herbal plants etc.
Thank you better India for publishing such an interesting story. To read more,

IQ or EQ or SQ1 or SQ2 which is most
important in Career selection and its growth?: Interesting Question Right? IQ stands
for Intelligence Quotient, EQ stands for Emotional Quotient, SQ1 stands for
Social Quotient and SQ2 stands for Spiritual Quotient. You may agree or not,
but all 4 quotients play important role in different facets of your career
selection and progression. However, their prominence differs depending on the
stage. For e.g. as soon as you got graduated from college, IQ is most important
to crack competitive entrance examinations. During your HR round, your
Emotional Quotient plays major role. Once you join an organization, your SQ1-
Social Quotient plays major role during growth phase. Once you become most
senior in the organization, spiritual quotient plays important role. In today's
context, the most important education is developing all quotients
simultaneously. Today, we are too much focusing on improving IQ levels, missing
other three important quotients. This
will lead to disaster. Request you to focus on all 4 quotients simultaneously
and build 360 degree profile of yours. Are you ready?
World’s First Electrified Road Charges
Vehicles as they Drive (Sweden): Interesting Right? Sweden
opened a road which recharges the batteries of cars and trucks as they drive
along it. Vehicles have movable arm which is attached to the bottom of the vehicles,
which connects to electric rail embedded within the road, transfers the energy to
the battery. They opened 2 KM road for public use. Hope in India, we get
similar setup. To read more, please visit https://www.positive.news/2018/environment/34102/sweden-worlds-first-electrified-road-charges-vehicles-as-they-drive/
