Unleashing the Power of AI: Job Market Dynamics (AI shrinks large set of jobs to 4), Skill Reshaping, and New Opportunities: Read this /Watch it

 Dear Friends and Students

Recently I had an opportunity to present my views on “AI Impact on Jobs: Transformations, Opportunities, and Future Skills” at Andhra Pradesh Training and Placements Organization Capacity Building Conclave.

I shared my opinion. You may agree or disagree but my gut says, "The Rise of AI is going to shape the Future of Work and Skills Needed for Success!!" You may read the following or alternatively, you may watch this YouTube video - https://youtu.be/yEdE7lUg3xg.

Will we lose jobs to AI?

The True answer is Yes if we don’t know how to Tame it.

But The Answer is No if we know how to Term it.

Yes, the World of opportunities would be shrinking into 4 categories

1. Entrepreneurs (2%-3%)

2. Domain and Technology Experts who contribute immensely to tuning and training the Massive Language Model Tuners (7% to 8%)

3. Prompt Engineers (30% to 40%)

4. AI Application Users (50% to 60%)

AI Tsunami is approaching quickly. If we look at some of the trends, it is clearly evident

 Until 2014- Academia, academia was working on Machine Learning Models. However, since 2022, Industry produced 22, and Academia 3! Imagine how big the usage and commercialization are!

 From 2019 to 2022 30+LLMs Launched and China released China Bilingual LLM (2022)

 AI Starts to build AI, proven by Nvidia. AI Reinforcement Learning Agent to improve chip design to power AI

 AI Became a Pair Programmer. GitHub Copilot experimented with 95 developers. Without Copilot 70% completion rate of the task and 161 mins to complete, with Copilot, 78% and 71 mins with 56% Productivity!

 Since 2022, 50% of companies adopted AI in at least 1 function

 Since 2011, North America AI Ph.D. Jobs Industry 40.9%, Academia 41.6%. Since 2021, Industry 65.4% and Academia 28.2%

How do these trends impact jobs?

What would happen to Mediocre Doctors? Their job is at Threat.

 No More Traditional Average Surgeons are Needed, as Hugo™ RAS system took that job! Robo-Assisted Surgery Made Simple

 No More Average Oncologists Needed, Sybil: A Validated Deep Learning Model to Predict Future Lung Cancer Risk.AI powered Cancer Detection tool Does it

 No More Specialists in Ophthalmology, Google’s Automated Retinal Disease Assessment make it

 No More Basic General Physicians are required, Medical Tricorder monitors 13 medical conditions including anemia, leukemia, etc or Scanadu does it.

What would happen to Mediocre Management and HR Professionals? Their job is at Threat.

 No More HRs or Technical Interviewers Needed, Engligence Technology Labs/ skill2030.com, AI-Powered Metaverse-based Total Interview Automation Platform/HRTech Engine developed 3 years back.

 No More Letter Drafting Team Needed, Jasper does it perfectly

 No More Accountants with MBA/CA/ICWA!, Zoho Books does it

 No More Marketing Team Needed, MarketMuse Does it

You might say, Software Engineer Role is safe! It is not!

 App development- Zoho Creates

 Code Generation- Copilot or AWS Codewishper or OpenAI Codex

 Bug Detection – Deep Code

 Code Optimization - Kite

 Testing – Testim.IO, generates the test and detects the regression

 Documentation – Huggingface Transformers

 From a Data Science perspective -Data Preparation, Feature Engineering, Model Selection, Hyper Parameter Tuning, Predictive Modelling by Data Robo, Tensorflow, etc

 Project Management by Asana

 Infra Provision by Terraform

Then what skill we need to impart to students in the Universities!!

We need to create more opportunities for the students to showcase their Creativity, Intuitiveness, Problem Solving, and Design Thinking!! These 4 skills are highly needed for Prompt Engineering Jobs which is going to be Massive Future Requirement and Recruitment!!

Now or Never, Decide!!

Twin Powered SistersNishita and Nikita Baliarsingh Powering Environmentally through their StartupNexus Power!! (Non-Science Background but Building Bio Organic and Bio-Degradable)Read this Inspiring Story!

 Dear Friends and Students

The Future Power is here- Bio-organic fast charge batteries for a better tomorrow!! Amazing Title, right? It is not just Title, but Beyond and their Vision! If this product is developed by some Bio Chemist or Electrical Engineer, it is not a big surprise! However, this company has been started by Twins- Nishita and Nikita Baliarsingh, who are not engineers by degree but by thought and heart!

Nishita Baliarsingh: Nishita completed her Bachelor's in Business Management with marketing majors from Xavier School of Commerce, Bhubaneswar. Currently, she is pursuing CA. She has been a recipient of multiple awards for innovation in battery technology. Besides her entrepreneurial interests, Nishita is an amateur photographer and an adventure freak. She also takes a keen interest in art, sketching, sports, music, and horse riding. She strives to build a greener planet. The company also follows the same ideology and is constantly innovating to sustain! Nishita is very active when it comes to business, leadership, and travel. She is the Co-Founder and CEO of Nexus Power.

About Nexus Power: The brand Nexus manufactures rechargeable, bio-organic, and biodegradable batteries for electric vehicles. These Eco - friendly batteries are lithium-ion free and utilize crop residue as the raw material, efficiently managing the massive farmland waste generated in India and across the globe. The interesting part is that the batteries charge 8x - 10x faster and last 20% - 30% longer than their counterparts. Nexus Power owns a provisional patent for its lab-tested working proof-of-concept.

Nikita Baliarsingh: Nikita completed her Bachelor's in Business Management with marketing majors from Xavier School of Commerce and then pursued her Master's in Media & Mass Communication from Xavier School of Communications, Bhubaneswar. She is currently the Co-Founder and CIO of Nexus Power. Besides her entrepreneurial interests, she is a creative writer, filmmaker, and adventure freak. She is also a musician, sports enthusiast, and brave horse rider.

Technology: The proprietary battery technology from Nexus uses bio-organic nano-materials with unique fast regenerative properties. The concepts of Bio-Mimicry and Industrial Ecology form the development structure of the battery and give the bio-degradable nature to both the electrodes and the electrolyte.

The entire process from the cradle to the grave doesn’t leave out any waste and these batteries are fully recyclable. Fast generative nano-materials from crop residue allow the charge to remain longer due to properties that make them sticky.

Inspiration: Despite no prior academic experience in science, both sisters enrolled in certification courses for nanotechnology, battery thermal management, and hybrid electric vehicle design, to learn about the technology they wanted to create. In 2019, they set up a manufacturing company called ‘Nexus Power’, driven by the aim to use protein extracts from crop residue to make sustainable, biodegradable batteries that can be turned into manure once the lifecycle is complete. Their efforts reaped fruit in the middle of the 2020 lockdown when the company successfully produced a prototype of the battery (https://www.vogue.in/).

Little things in Life that are Interesting! Fascinating Life lessons!

 Dear Friends and Students

The Amazon rainforest is the largest rainforest in the world, covering an area of approximately 6.7 million square kilometres across nine countries in South America. It is all due to the kind of rainfall it receives. It catches an average of 2,500 millimetres of rainfall per year, with some areas receiving up to 4,000 millimetres annually. It will not surprise us.

The Sahara Desert is the largest hot desert in the world, covering approximately 3.6 million square miles (9.4 million square kilometres) in North Africa. During the day, temperatures in the Sahara can reach up to 50°C (122°F), while at night, temperatures can drop to as low as 0°C (32°F). It will not surprise us!

However, sometimes a tiny intervention surprise many! This train always stops in exactly the same place, and the air conditioner drips in the same place. A tiny ecosystem is born. See the picture above!! This is called fighting for a cause! This is called hope for many! They survive to show as an example.

In the Vedic times, how could Lord Prahlada exhibit unwavering devotion to Lord Vishnu in spite of severe opposition from his father Hiranyakashipu? Prahlada saw Lord Vishnu in everything and everyone around him, and he never wavered in his commitment to his faith. Sometimes we don’t need a complete supporting ecosystem to develop a solid faith or achieve something big. A small ray of hope is sufficient to conquer.

In modern times, Nick Vujicic, an Australian motivational speaker was born without arms and legs. Despite facing numerous challenges throughout his life, he has remained committed to his faith and has inspired many people with his message of hope and perseverance.

Yesterday, a Class 12th Tamil Nadu student, the daughter of a carpenter, emerged as the topper in the higher secondary examinations scoring a perfect 100 in all six subjects. S Nandhini's scorecard read 600/600. Amazing right? Congratulations to Nandhini.

Dr Raghunath Anant Mashelkar is one of India’s most eminent scientists. He is known for his contributions to India’s National Chemical Laboratory and Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, multiple ‘Mashelkar Committees, and a successful campaign against foreign patents on Indian traditional knowledge. Born on 1st January 1943 in Mashel, Goa, Ramesh (as he is known to his near and dear) lost his father at the tender age of six. However, his mother Late Mrs Anjani Mashelkar was committed to doing the best she could for him. It was her determination and foresight that pushed them to move to Mumbai in search of a better livelihood and education. Here they lived in a chawl (a type of shared tenement) and often struggled to make ends meet. He went barefoot to a municipal school and would sometimes be unable to afford a notebook to write his answers in. However, he demonstrated excellence even amidst adversity. He was the brightest student in the school and continuously excelled in his academics.

Every year, we observe many students in similar conditions. Once one of the boys in a similar condition told in a public gathering, “Adversities can be overwhelming and demotivating, but it is important to hold onto hope in such times. Hope is a powerful emotion that can help us overcome challenges and move forward in life”. Powerful and Powerpack Statement! We should thank them for the spirit!

Let us learn from these great fighters in their respective causes!

Maximizing the Impact of Your Internship Applications: The Crucial Role of Expression and Presentation in Cover Letters and Statements of Purpose

 Dear Friends and Students

Today I received the below picture and message from my LinkedIn Contact Dr. Joerg Storm. See the picture below.

“A six-year-old boy came home with a note from his teacher. The teacher wanted to see his parents the next day for an emergency interview. They asked their son if he knew why his teacher wanted to see them. He replied: “The teacher did not like my drawing. The next day the parents went to school for the interview. The teacher put the drawing sheet on the table. “I asked him to draw his family and he drew this!” The teacher said with a worried look in her eyes. "No problem," said the mother with a smile in her voice. “This was our family vacation. We went snorkeling in the Bahamas”.

This story looks funny! The teacher might have misunderstood the intention and would have appreciated the creativity. However, the context I am writing is for a bigger cause!

AICTE has mandated all Engineering students should go for 2 times internships. Many students started applying! They started writing to various companies. While many students are writing professionally, I have seen a few cases which require more professionality, substance, and clarity. They are highly required, otherwise, they may not even receive an acknowledgment.

Let me share a few examples so that you can understand what is missing.

"Hello Sir/Madam, I am interested in interning with your company. Please give me an internship. Thank you."- This letter is too brief and lacks any kind of introduction or explanation as to why the student is interested in interning with the company. Additionally, the tone is too informal and the grammar and punctuation errors make the letter appear unprofessional.

"Hey guys! I'm looking for an internship for the summer. Do you have any spots open? I think I'd be a great fit for your company. Hit me up if you're interested! Thanks!"- This letter is overly casual and lacks the professional tone expected in a job or internship application. The informal language and lack of attention to detail make it unlikely that the company will take the applicant seriously.

"To Whom It May Concern, I am interested in applying for your internship program. I am confident that I have the necessary skills and experience to excel in this role. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, [Student Name]"-While this letter is more formal and professional in tone, it still lacks any real substance or detail about

Dear Students, out of 100 applications, you may get responses to a max of 10 or 15. Still, there is no guarantee for conversion. Please take the internship seriously. It helps to gain valuable experience, develop important skills, and make connections in their field.

When you have to start your first internship- I suggest starting your first internship at the end of the first year, first semester.

Is it too early? No, in my view, it is actually late!!

Do I need to apply on my own, or should someone else write the application for me? You should try it as that is the major learning in your career! You will understand ground realities!

Happy interning!
